About Me

I am honoured to have served as President of the Canadian Operational Research Society (CORS), and as Chair of the Transportation Science/Logistics Section of INFORMS (see links).

I joined UW following about a decade in industry, during which I was a part-time Lecturer at the University of Toronto. That teaching experience helped me transition to the classroom at Waterloo. And my industrial practice has shaped the research that I undertake.

I continue to work with companies through WATMIMS, our Waterloo research group for Logistics and Manufacturing. This interaction with private-sector firms influences the projects I assign in my courses, the thesis topics that my graduate students pursue for their research, and the industrial positions for which they are hired.
